Because of you...

Dear Friends,

Looking back on 2018, there are so many moments that serve as vivid reminders of the power of believing in people. The LOGAN spirit is fundamentally based on believing in people and the potential in all of us. Not just the potential of people served by LOGAN, but also the potential in all of us to believe in and accept everyone regardless of what people can or cannot do. We see potential come alive every day at LOGAN. Children are reaching new developmental milestones. Teenagers are exploring new pathways as they transition from high school to adulthood. And adults are discovering their own unique contributions to our community through participation, volunteerism and employment as our neighbors, co-workers and friends.

LOGAN strives to do more for those who need us, and 2018 was no different. We formed a collaborative relationship with Hannah & Friends, becoming their preferred provider for residential and day services. We expanded the Sonya Ansari Center for Autism and opened the Little Learning Center, a therapeutic classroom for some of our youngest children, in the LOGAN Center building. Our clients engaged in community activities and volunteerism more than ever. We built a new home in Mishawaka for people to live independently. Over 50 people proudly earned community jobs. We completed a $1.6 million campaign for the Autism Learning Center in Southwest Michigan. These are just a few of our accomplishments, and all of them would not be possible without our nearly 600 dedicated and caring employees.

We also celebrated the 30th birthday of The Great LOGAN Nose-On. Can you believe our community has had 30 years of little foam, green noses? The sustaining power of the green nose represents how far we have come as a community. Memorably, we danced a conga line at The Great LOGAN Nose-On luncheon. What a powerful vision that was to see politicians, business leaders, school children and community members dance together while celebrating LOGAN.

Each story in this annual report reflects a person, a moment or an experience that embodies the LOGAN mission of supporting individuals and their families to achieve their desired quality of life. We invite you to explore our work further and join us in conversation on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, or sign up for one of our e-newsletters. Thank you for your ongoing commitment and loyal support of LOGAN – we couldn’t do what we do without you.

Sincerely and with much gratitude,
